The Synapse Claris 8 is an excellent first road bike for those wanting long distance comfort and racy sportive performance.
Frame & Fork
The frame on the Claris 8 is very good, built around Cannondale’s Optimized 6061 alloy aluminium. This makes for a strong, light and stiff frame for ideal on-road performance whether leisure riding or racing. Comfort comes in the form of SAVE PLUS technology in the rear triangle of the frame which flexes vertically to absorb road shock (horizontal rigidity is maintained for efficient power transfer).
The carbon bladed fork also features SAVE micro-suspension further reducing road buzz reaching fatiguing your muscles. It also adds extra front end stiffness for better steering precision – ideal for fast cornering, and busy commutes.
Geometry has been carefully considered with a taller head tube (compared to their elite race geometry), gently sloping top tube, slightly relaxed head angle and longer wheelbase put you into a more upright position – lively and stable and not sluggish.
The Synapse Claris 8 is spec’d well with a Shimano Claris drivetrain – capable, reliable and durable for efficient gearing and shifting. Tektro dual pivot brakes give you all the stopping power you need and Maddux RS 2.0 rims will keep you rolling smoothly, mile after mile.
